PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Dr. Bennett earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Duke University in Durham, NC. He graduated from medical school and ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. He recently completed his Cornea and External Disease Fellowship from Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

As a cornea specialist, Dr. Bennett performs transplants including full thickness and partial thickness (e.g. DSEK and DMEK), corrects refractive error with LASIK, PRK and ICL, and treats medical conditions such as keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, and dry eye. He performs cross-linking to stabilize keratoconus. He performs routine and complex cataract surgery. He offers femtosecond laser assistance with cataract surgery when clinically helpful (mild astigmatism or concern for poor corneal healing). He also performs iris repair and secondary intraocular lens placement.

He loves to watch his two boys grow up, play with his mini golden-doodle, listen to vinyl records, explore the outdoors, watch hockey and play card games.
